In vitro adherence and invasion assay of C. jejuni 11168 and C. jejuni Δcj0371. The adhesion phenotype of C. jejuni 11168 and C. jejuni Δcj0371 (A) and the invasion phenotype (B) were determined using Caco-2 cells. The adhesion ability of the cj0371 mutant is similar to the wild type (P > 0.05), but compared to the wild type, C. jejuni Δcj0371 showed significantly increased invasion ability (P < 0.01). *P ≤ 0.01; **P ≤ 0.05; ***P ≤ 0.001.
