Absence of physiological adverse events following adjunct 5-HTP SR to chronic SSRI treatment. (a,c,e) Mice were assessed at multiple time points immediately following implantation (day 1) and (b, d, f) daily on the 3 subsequent days (day 2–4). 5-HTP SR did not cause diarrhea, tremor, or hypothermia at any time point. Paradigm as outlined in Figure 1a, except that all mice were fluoxetine treated. Data represent means±SEM (N=4–5). WT and 5-HTHypo mice were analyzed separately.
