Effect of Ca-deficient diet on TBA levels and antioxidant power in CCl₄-induced toxicity. Mice were fed a normal diet or a Ca-deficient diet from 4 weeks of age for a period of 4 weeks. At 8 weeks of age, the mice were injected intraperitoneally with 2 g/kg CCl₄. TBA levels (A) and total antioxidant power (B) in the liver were determined 24 h after injection. Data indicate mean ± S.D. for 6–9 mice. ^**P < 0.01 versus control, ^#P < 0.05 and ^##P < 0.01 versus normal diet + CCl₄ group.
