Relative oxygen reactivities of wild‐type recombinant pyranose dehydrogenase from A. meleagris and active‐site variants. Steady‐state oxygen reactivity was determined using an Amplex Red/horseradish peroxidase based assay 19. The assay contained 0.5 mg·mL ⁻¹ of the purified enzyme, 50 μm Amplex Red, 25 mm GLC, 0.1 U·mL ⁻¹ horseradish peroxidase and 50 mm sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4). Error bars represent the SD of four repeats. The specific activity of wild‐type recombinant Am PDH with oxygen is 0.104 μm·min⁻¹·mg⁻¹ (green bar).
