Notes: (A) The intracellular zinc concentration occurring from NP dissolution inside the cell was determined by treating Jurkat cells with either −30, −9, and +44 mV ZnO NPs (0.15 mM) for 8 hours and intracellular zinc concentration determined by ICP-MS (n=3, means ± standard error). (B) The extracellular dissolution of NPs was determined after 24-hour incubation of ZnO NPs in PBS using ICP-MS (n=3, means ± standard error). Results were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and model-based means test. Asterisks denote statistical significance (P<0.05).
