Notch signaling regulates ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK signaling during E. chaffeensis infection. THP-1 cells were infected with E. chaffeensis (MOI of 100; 1 h posttreatment) in the presence or absence of notch inhibitor SAHM1 (10 µM). Medium or LPS (100 ng/ml) was added at the indicated times, and cells were incubated for 30 min. Cells were lysed after incubation, and cell lysates were analyzed for (A) phosphorylated ERK1/2 (p-ERK1/2), (B) total ERK1/2, (C) phosphorylated p38 MAPK (p-p38MAPK), and (D) total p38 MAPK using Luminex bead arrays.
