Analyses for the receipt of HIV prevention services restricted inclusion to participants who had not previously received a positive HIV test result.
P-values were obtained using Fisher’s exact test only among participants who reported having accessed exactly one type of health care setting in the last six months, so that comparison groups were independent and mutually exclusive. Among the 41 HIV-negative participants who accessed exactly one type of setting, proportions of participants who received any HIV prevention services (95.8%, 50.0%, and 63.6%), HIV testing (87.5%, 50.0%, and 63.6%), and counseling (50.0%, 0%, and 0%) at community-based clinics, primary care settings, and acute care settings, respectively, were comparable to the proportions presented for all HIV-negative participants. Among the 46 participants overall who accessed exactly one type of setting, proportions of participants who received any general care services (70.4%, 100%, 76.9%), preventive care services (44.4%, 100%, and 46.2%), and treatment services (55.6%, 83.3%, and 46.2%) at community-based clinics, primary care settings, and acute care settings, respectively, were comparable to the proportions presented for all participants.
Any HIV prevention services was defined as HIV testing, HIV counseling, PrEP, or PEP.
Any general care services was defined as general preventive care, treatment for being a little sick, or treatment for being very sick.
