Adherence of Tfp-expressing NTHI was greater to epithelial cells infected with adenovirus or RSV compared to uninfected cells. NTHI parent (black bars), pilA-deficient mutant (white bars) and complemented pilA mutant (grey bars) were inoculated on to uninfected NHBEs (no virus) or cells infected with adenovirus or RSV prior to bacterial challenge.
