Hyphopodia are infection structures of V. dahliae. ROS produced by VdNoxB/VdPls complex elevate cytoplasmic Ca2+ in hyphopodia. Accumulation of Ca2+ activates nuclear targeting of VdCrz1 transcription factor and triggers VdCrz1 signaling to regulate penetration peg development.
