Sequencing of TP53 gene in UM1 (top) and UM2 (bottom) oral cancer cells. Comparison between wild-type and UM1/UM2 TP53 gene shows a C to G transversion in both UM1 and UM2 cells, occurring at codon 72. As indicated by the alignment, the single nucleotide mutation causes the change of proline (P) in wild-type TP53 gene to arginine (R) in UM1 and UM2 cells at codon 72.
