Opioid-mediated analgesia in the carrageenan model. Oxycodone (3 mg/kg) significantly reversed carrageenan-induced heat allodynia (5 h post injection of carrageenan) as measured by (A) the thermal probe test and (B) the Hargreaves test. (C) Oxycodone (3 mg/kg) had no significant effect on mechanical thresholds as measured by electronic von Frey.
