smn-1(ok355) does not impair uptake of rhodamine dextran via the apical surface of the intestine. Shown are representative images of the intestinal cells of early L4 stage larvae smn-1(ok355) animals fed rhodamine–dextran. No difference was seen in endocytosis-dependent accumulation of rhodamine in intestinal cells. dyn-1(ky51) impairs function of C. elegans dynamin, a GTPase that is critical for endocytosis (97) and serves here as a control.
