Effect of luminal ANG II on medullary thick ascending limb (mTAL) chloride transport. Rat mTAL were dissected by freehand and perfused in vitro with concentric glass pipettes. Tubules were perfused with an ultrafiltrate-like solution and bathed with a similar solution containing albumin. After the control period, 10−8 M ANG II was added to the luminal perfusate. There was a significant decrease in chloride transport with addition of luminal ANG II (P < 0.01).
