Roles of miR-196a in target gene expression. To establish the regulation of target genes by miR-196a, miR-196a mimic was transfected in ABCD1 knockdown U87 astrocytes cells (U87 Lenti) and transfection efficiency evaluated by miScript qRT-PCR. SNORD61 was used as an internal control and represented as miR-196a/SNORD61 (a). The expression of target genes IKKα and IKKβ was analysed after the transfection of miR-196a mimic and normalized to GAPDH. The expression of these genes was significantly increased in ABCD1 silenced cells as compared to wild type but significantly decreased after transfection of mimic in U87 Lenti cells (b and c). **P < 0.05.
