PGE₂ and hypercapnia induce sighs. Sigh frequency does not differ between wild-type mice and Ptger3^-/- mice. In wild-type mice, PGE₂ increases sigh frequency. Hypercapnia also increases sigh frequency more in wild-type mice than in Ptger3^-/- mice. PGE₂ abolishes this increase in wild-type mice but not in Ptger3^-/- mice (*p<0.05). n: number of animals.
