a: group of 10 mice were challenged (i.p. injection) one week after the third immunization and survival status were recorded each day for ten days post-challenge and the survival rate were calculated at day 10; b: mice were immunized with PBS alone subcutaneously. In multivariable logistic regression, significant difference of survival rates has been noticed between “tATA4 with adjuvant” groups and “tATA4” group (P < 0.01), but not between two adjuvant groups (P = 0.406), which indicated that the two adjuvants might have equal effect in this study. “-”: data not done.
