Only four ascospores are detected in most of the mature asci, confirming that JP98.111-SkK carries the SkK allele. The asterisk denotes an ascus where there appears to be five ascospores. Two possible explanations are that this 5th ascospore escaped killing, or it strayed from another ascus during the dissection and imaging process.
