(B) Insulin secretion from single islets had surprisingly little correlation with islet volume at 11 mM glucose (gray triangles; R2 = 0.0678) or at 3 mM glucose (black circles; R2 = 0.0906), with high levels of secretion from some of the smallest islets. Islets secreting undetectable levels of insulin were not excluded and are shown as empty data points. Inset shows the log–log plot of the same data.
