(b) 293T cells were transfected with the indicated expression constructs and analysed by western blot for expression of Rnf186 and the R179X variant. The RNF186 protein with a premature stop at amino-acid position 179 is expressed, but at reduced levels. (c) 293T cells were transfected with the indicated expression constructs and analysed by immunofluorescence to demonstrate altered subcellular localization of the R179X variant.
