The data represent 3 rabbits per treatment group, and mean serum VDRL titers are shown through 10–14 weeks postinfection, and at least 6 weeks after initiation of treatment. One representative strain is shown for each 23S group: wild type, A2058G, and A2059G, as noted. For calculating mean ± SE, titers were converted to log₂ with nonreactive = −1.0; weakly reactive = −0.5; R1 = 0, and R2 = 1, and so on.
