Sequences are shown for anomalopid symbiont genes, some orthologs from close relatives (V. parahaemolyticus, V. splendidus, V. cholerae sequences in fig. 3), and four orthologs with experimentally demonstrated amino acid binding and response capabilities (Vchol_mlp24: V. cholerae, Afisc_vfcA: A. fischeri, Paeru_pctA: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bsubt_mcpB: Bacillus subtilus).
