Effects of mSYMPX on the CFA model of peripheral inflammation. CFA paw injection was performed on POD 0, 14 d after mSYMPX or sham mSYMPX surgery. As in prior experiments (Fig. 2), this did not affect baseline responses (average baseline plotted on POD 0). CFA-induced changes in von Frey responses (A) and mechanical allodynia test (B) were significantly reduced in mSYMPX animals on all days tested. Cold responses (C) differed between the two groups on POD 1 only. *p < 0.05; **p < 0.01; ***p < 0.001; significant difference between groups at indicated time points (two-way repeated-measures ANOVA with Bonferroni post hoc test). N = 8 male animals per group. Experimenter was blinded to the mSYMPX/sham status.
