Metabolic changes in leaves of chickpea plants. Chickpea seedlings were inoculated with either the McCP-31 strain (●) or the MmSWR19 strain (■) and grown under Pi-sufficient (+P) or -deficient (−P) conditions. Significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) in the levels of metabolites between Pi-deficient and -sufficient nodules are indicated in green (increased levels) and red (reduced levels); whereas unchanged levels of metabolites are shown by no color.
