Targeted screen for proteins that are known to interact with or regulate the assembly of K63-linked ubiquitin chains in the endosomal and autophagic pathways. Total lysates from the SN and AC were compared across regions of the same brain and between healthy and LB-containing regions (n = 8 cases per region). The detection of a significantly increased expression of Usp8 in the SN with LBs despite the use of crude lysates strongly implicates this enzyme in disease pathogenesis.
