Ref-K57 (upper) contains a 981-bp orf13 (green, residue 15948–16928) encoding a putative acyltransferase family protein. In the PLA isolate A1142 (lower), this gene is interrupted by a gene encoding a putative transposase (red, residue 16519–17193). The blue arrows indicate the positions of the orf13 PCR primers (K57-orf13-F and K57-orf13-R) used for panel B analysis (see below).
