Identification by ESI-MS of (A) the trapped MCPP-IAA adduct and the ammonium ion of this adduct formed by the reaction of 1mM MCPP with 10 mM IAA and, (B) the ammonium ion of the free thiol MCP formed after treatment of A with 20 mM DTT. All reactions were performed in 0.1 M ammonium bicarbonate buffer (pH 7.4). Aliquots of the reaction mixture were diluted 5x with methanol prior to ESI-MS analysis.
