The network includes factors associated with compositional differences in the neonatal gut microbiome in either single or multi-factor models. Compositional similarity for each pair of factors was defined as the percentage of overlapping significant taxa among all significant taxa between the two factors; two factors were connected in the network if they had at least a 15% overlap in shared associated taxa (≥80th percentile of percentages). In order to disentangle similarity based on compositional impact and similarity due to high correlation, between-factor connections are colored orange if they are significantly correlated (grey otherwise).
