The network includes factors associated with compositional differences in the infant gut microbiome in either single or multi-factor models. Compositional similarity for each pair of factors was defined as the percentage of overlapping significant taxa among all significant taxa between the two factors; two factors were connected in the network if they had at least a 12% overlap in shared associated taxa (≥80^th percentile of percentages). In order to disentangle similarity based on compositional impact and similarity due to high correlation, between-factor connections are colored orange if they are significantly correlated (grey otherwise). Abbreviations: BMI, body mass index; NSV, neonatal study visit at 1-month of age; ISV, infant study visit at 6-months of age.
