Reduced MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell invasion in response to TUDCA is associated with reduced MMP-7 and −13 expression. MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with 0.5 mM TUDCA, total RNA was purified and cDNA was synthesized. Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction was performed using SYBR Green. mRNA levels were normalized to those of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and plotted by setting the expression of the vehicle control to 100%. Data are presented as the mean ± standard deviation. *P<0.00001 and **P<0.00005 vs. vehicle. MMP, matrix metalloproteinase; TUDCA, tauroursodeoxycholic acid.
