Inhibition of L. monocytogenes Scott A plaque-forming by pretreated C. divergens V41 using the HT29 epithelial cell model. C. divergens V41 was inoculated at 10⁹ cfu ml⁻¹ 1 h before inoculating L. monocytogenes at 10⁷ cfu ml⁻¹. (RC) control without pretreatment; (WC) washed cells; (RHC) resuspended heated cells and (WHC) washed heated cells. The results are expressed as mean ± SD from two independent experiments. Asterisks indicate significant differences (P < 0.05) compared to Scott A alone. No significant difference was observed between treatments and the control (P > 0.05).
