Effects of GBCA or GdCl₃ on TR-mediated transcription. Expression plasmids encoding TRβ1 were cotransfected with F2-TK-LUC into CV-1 cells. Cells were cultured with or without 10⁻⁷ T₃ and the indicated amount of Gd-DTPA-BMA (A,D), Gd-DOTA (B,E), or GdCl₃ (C,F). To compare the general cellular transcriptional activity, luciferase and β-galactosidase activities in the cell lysate after Gd-DTPA-BMA (A,D), Gd-DOTA (B,E), or GdCl₃ (C,F) treatment are shown. The total amount of DNA per well was balanced by adding a pcDNA3 vector.
