Effects of indole-3-carbinol (I3C) on tube formation in endothelial cells activated with the conditioned medium (CM) from mature adipocytes. Following 6 d differentiation, mature adipocytes were treated with I3C for 24 h, and the CM was collected and used to cultivate endothelial EA hy926 cells, which were grown on Matrigel-coated plates for 24 h. Formation of tube-like structures (as indicated in arrows) was observed and photographed under a microscope after staining with calcein AM fluorescent dye.
