Serum biomarkers of cardiac function. Average serum TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C (mmol/L), ApoA and ApoB (g/L), CRP (mg/L), GOT, LDH and CK (U/L) levels in 3 groups of rabbits (n = 6), were analyzed by an automated hematology analyzer. Each analysis was conducted on peripheral blood serum harvested from animals following the 8-week treatment periods, for: non-hypercholesterolemic (control), hypercholesterolemic rabbits (HC) and hypercholesterolemic animals receiving WGLL-supplemented chow (HCT). Results are shown as the average values from each group of animals ± SEM of serum total cholesterol (serum cholesterol, mmol/L) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C, mmol/L).
