Off-rotamer states (those more than 10° from a g+, g−, or a rotamer well minimum) appear as hot spot (HS) residues at a comparable rate to on-rotamer states, those within 10° of a rotamer well minimum. Measured here is the percentage of residues that are HS under a particular condition (e.g., on-rotamer and helical) over the percentage overall for that amino acid.
