Change in the phosphorylation state of S6K1 target proteins in eWAT from chronic alcohol-fed and pair-fed control mice. Quantitation of Western blots for the ribosomal protein S6, eIF4B (phosphorylated, total and ratio) and PDCD4 (phosphorylated and total (panels A–F). Unless, noted, values have been normalized to the total amount of the respective protein (e.g., tubulin) that did not change with alcohol (data not shown). eIF4B resolved as two bands and both bands were quantitated. Representative Western blots are presented (panel G) from eWAT isolated from two control and two alcohol-fed mice. Values are means ± SEM; n = 11 and 14, respectively. *P < 0.05 compared to time-matched control values.
