Properties of the drystic cambisol soil used in both experiments collected from the uppermost mineral layer in a temperate forest, Haliburton, ON. Soil analysis was done at the Agriculture and Food Laboratory, University of Guelph, Guelph, ON. Test procedures and units are reported in parentheses. Three replicates were used for all analyses.
