Child centered Supportive parental behaviors that encourage mastery, success, pride, effective self-regulatory skills in the child.
Withdrawn .66 .69 Neglect/distancing Behavior that is uncaring, apathetic, uninvolved, ignoring, aloof, unresponsive, self-focused, or otherwise minimizes the amount of time, contact, or effort expended on the child.
Listener responsiveness (reverse coded) Behavior that shows interest in, acknowledges, and validates the verbalizations of the child through the use of nonverbal backchannels and verbal assents.
Child monitoring (reverse coded) The extent to which the parent knows and pursues information about the child’s daily life and daily activities.
Quality time (reverse coded) The extent and quality of the parent’s involvement in the child’s life outside of the immediate setting.
