Protrusio acetabuli is defined by the femoral head crossing or touching the ilioischial line (left). Compared with a normal hip, the size of the lunate surface is increased, which leads to a pincer type of FAI. The rationale of our treatment was to reduce the size of the lunate surface by circumferential rim trimming, if possible with labral refixation or reconstruction (right).
