Infective center production and stability after low MOI T4 infection at various lengths of time after E. coli inoculation into M9 supplemented with CAA and glucose. At each time point, 1 × 10⁷ phage/mL were added: (A) in ZK126 and (B) in ZK1000. The number of infective centers and their stability was measured at 15 min, 4 and 24 h by serially diluting the cells and plating 0.1 ml of the appropriate dilutions on ZK126, as previously described.
