Reactivities of the ChpA Xpts with ATP in the presence of the HATPase_c catalytic domain. ChpA AA− (1.9 μm) was incubated with each Xpt (Hpt1–Hpt6, Spt, and Tpt present at 40 μm) and [γ-32P]ATP (150 μm) for 60 min at room temperature. Reaction samples were divided and then electrophoresed on two gels for analysis by phosphorimaging (A) and Coomassie stain (B).
