(a) Low resolution TEM micrograph of a nominal 1 BL thick GeTe film grown on Si(111)-(√3 × √3)R30°-Sb. (b) Cross-section HRTEM along Si on the same sample as in (a). These micrographs show that GeTe forms a crystalline and wetting film. The simultaneous coalescence of more than one layer at the same time is also observed.
