Double asterisks refer to the probability of a type I statistical error with alpha < 0.01. Triple asterisks refer to the probability of a type I statistical error with alpha < 0.001. “n.s.” (i.e., not significant) refers to the probability of a type I statistical error with alpha > 0.05.
