Effects of l-theanine on excess DA-induced neuronal death in neuron-rich cultures and neuron-astrocyte cocultures. Mesencephalic neuronal cultures or mesencephalic neurons and striatal astrocytes cocultures were pretreated with l-theanine (500 µM) for 72 h, followed by DA (0, 50, 100, 150 µM) for further 24 h. The viability of dopaminergic neurons was determined by immunostaining with anti-TH antibody.
