The task of the subjects was to indicate via a button press whether a contour (upper left panel) or a non-contour stimulus (upper right panel) was shown (arrows for illustrative purposes only). Event-related tACS was delivered only during the variable interval presentation of a fixation cross. TACS conditions varied randomly between trials.
