Effects of chronic hypoxia on cardiac hemodynamics in wild-type (WT) versus Cyp2c44 knockout (Cyp2c44−/−) female mice are shown. Cardiac index (A), stroke volume (B), end-diastolic volume (C), and end-systolic volume (D) were decreased in hypoxic (Hypx) WT and Cyp2c44−/− groups. However, deletion of Cyp2c44 gene exacerbated heart failure. N = 5 in each group. Asterisk indicates P < 0.05 versus normoxic (Norx) controls, and pound sign indicates P < 0.05 versus Hypx WT.
