There are fewer osteoblasts in the bone of A2BRKO mice—immunohistochemical staining of alkaline phosphatase as a marker of osteoblasts was carried out as described in “Material and methods.” The number of osteoblasts was then counted in the tibias of 6-week-old A2BRKO and WT mice. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM (n = 4 for each group; Student’s t test: *p < 0.05)
