Detection of 8-OHdG in Plasmodium yoelii XL-17 infected RBC of probocol treated mice. 8-OHdG in iRBC was detected by immunofluorescence staining and observed by a fluorescent microscope (a). The blood smears were made from mice fed with 0.5 % (w/w) probucol mixed diet or normal diet and infected with P. yoelii XL-17 when their parasitaemia were around 20–30 %. The line shows the median. The fluorescence intensity of anti-8-OHdG signal was measured by ImageJ (b). Scale bar is 20 μm. *p < 1×10−8
