Western blot analysis was conducted to determine protein expression of (a) p-Akt at Ser⁴⁷³, p- Akt at Thr³⁰⁸, Akt1, Akt2, and Akt after cells exposed to UA at various concentrations for 24 hr, and (b) Akt1, Akt2, and Akt after cells exposed to 30 μM UA for various times. RT-PCR was performed to determine mRNA expression of Akt1/2 (c) after cells exposed to UA at various concentrations for 24 hr, and (d) after cells exposed to 30 μM UA for various times. These experiments were repeated with similar results.
