The whole cell lysate (W) or the supernatant (S) and cell pellet (P) fractions containing the cytoplasmic and cell envelope proteins, respectively, were isolated from the wild type and srt mutant. The cell fractions were analyzed by Western blotting with polyclonal antibodies to ChtD (anti-ChtD), ChtE (anti-ChtE) or Srt (anti-Srt). The protein marker sizes (in kDa) are indicated on the left of the blot.
