Plasma levels of osteopontin (OPN) in control subjects and patients with ommunity-acquired pneumonia (CAP) before and after treatment. The plasma OPN level was significantly elevated in patients with CAP before they received treatment compared with the controls (p < 0.001) and significantly decreased in patients with CAP after treatment (p < 0.001). Data were presented as the mean ± SD. Control vs Untreat: The statistical difference was analyzed by the Mann-Whitney U-test. Untreated vs Treated: The statistical difference was analyzed by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
